Tilley Plastics

Located in LaTrobe St., Melbourne, Ernest Willberforce W. Tilley, a “manufacturer of plastic pressings” started  a die factory named after himself, ‘E. W. Tilley” around 1935, then from 1937 was a Bakelite factory. In 1947 the company name was changed to Tilley Plastics, and it continued until 1982.

The Age (Melbourne), 12th November 1935 p.16  G. Tilley P/L was a company set up to manufacturer watch cases by Mr Tilley, and landed him in court as he had signed a contract not to do so with a former business partner.
