Associated Plastics Pty Ltd was started in 1947 by a pioneer of the plastics industry in Australia, Frederick John Walcott Derham, (1900 – 1953). John (as he was known) had also been the founder of the Australian Moulding Corporation in 1927.
Located in Fitzroy, Victoria, Kristaware was advertised from 1966, although it was not trademarked until 1969. The business had merged with Aladdin Industries, an American firm famous for its character lunch boxes, by 1972 then the firm was wound up. Aladdin Industries still operates at Ormsby Place, Wetherill Park, NSW.
Products
The Kristaware range included picnic sets (bowls, plates, cups, saucers), salt and pepper shakers, jugs, bowls, mugs, tumblers, canisters (orange, yellow, olive, blue), egg cups, sandwich storers.
